Ultimate Rugby Sevens continues to commit to providing consistent and creative feedback, using traditional and creative methods, to lead the way in helping all players involved to understand their individual strengths and how they can continuously improve. We are therefore delighted to be partnering with Sportable for this coming season.

Sportable is a London-based company that develops technology for sports such as Rugby and American Football. The tech automatically captures, analyses and presents unique playing data. This data offers game-changing new perspectives for officiating, performance and scouting.

Ultimate Rugby Sevens will be integrating Sportable’s performance technology in the form of its skills package, Skill Tracker. The technology will instantly capture every pass, kick and throw in real-time, providing instant insights for coaches and players.  Skill Tracker collects key data points on hang-time, distance, speed, spin and height. Coaches and players then set their own targets and Skill Tracker instantly informs players of their accuracy and consistency. All of the data is displayed in real-time through the Skill Tracker app.

The technology will be trialed with the UR7s National Sevens Academy during the Summer Programme, starting on the 4th of August, and rolled out over the remainder of the season.

Sportable Co-Founder and CEO, Dugald Macdonald said, “Sportable is dedicated to developing talent through objective and scientifically supported methods. As such, we are always looking for partners who share our vision for nurturing talent and Ultimate Rugby Sevens’ unique approach to performance makes them an ideal organisation to work with. It’s certainly an exciting time for both organisations as we lead the charge to build the stars of the future.”

Barney Pascall, Ultimate Rugby Sevens CEO, followed by saying, “Our partnership with Sportable represents our ambition to continuously invest in our players.  The technology they are bringing is new, exciting and is already providing the sport with a fresh perspective on skills development, as well as how players and coaches develop their understanding of the game.  We will always look to set the standard in terms of developing high performance and I’m pleased to be partnering with such a forward-thinking company.”
