THE RESIDENTIAL
CAMP

Each season kicks off with a residential camp in each region. We hold them at some of the top schools in the country to ensure best possible environment for players. The residential takes place over 3-4 days, split between Junior and Senior sections of each region, where players are able to work with some of the best players and coaches in the rugby 7s.

THE START OF
A NEW SEASON

The ‘crown jewel’ of the National Academy season. The Junior & Senior squads come together separately during a residential training camp for 3/4 days each August during the summer holidays. This is the first opportunity for players from all across the country to come together for an action packed, fun few days of rugby 7s. The camp gives players the chance to understand all aspects of the game on and off the field.

Our coaching team is made of ex and current internationals, as well as up and coming national sevens players with a wealth of experience. The residential is a chance for coaches to get to know players and offer some of this knowledge and experience.

It is an action-packed three days, boarding alongside one another at the college, with work in the classroom, on the field & in the gym, helping the squad to understand all elements that are required to be a top-level sevens player.

As part of question & answer sessions, players get a chance to listen to current internationals and their experiences on the HSBC World Sevens Series and discovering the pathways they took to the top of the game.
